Lunch Date: Colette

Today was the lunch date with Colette. Originally, I thought she wanted to go to Applebee's. Yesterday she told me McDonald's. Today she told me Pepper's Pizza, which is the same place Bridget chose for her date. The service was exceptional. We had a good time.

It's hard to believe summer vacation is over for the kids. School starts on Tuesday, August 5th. (Way too early in my opinion. I'd like to see it start the Wednesday after Labor Day and end on the Thursday before Memorial Day)

Hannah Montana

On Saturday, I watched the Hannah Montana 3D concert with the kids. I know, hard to believe isn't it? These are strange times we live in. You just have to make the best of it. The kids enjoyed it, therefore I enjoyed it.

Lunch Date: Bernadette

For her lunch date, Bernadette chose the King Buffet Chinese Restaurant in Houma. It's her favorite. Mine too!

Trip Blog: Hotel Pool

You would think the sole purpose of our vacation was to go to the hotel pool if you ask the girls about. 700 miles one way to play in the pool!

Trip Blog Catsup Fest Part 2

Here are some more pics from Catsup fest--Bernadette passing the bottle.

Trip Blog Catsup Fest

On Saturday, 12 July, I performed at the World's Largest Catsup Bottle Summerfest in Collinsville. Colette was a special guest vocalist on a song. The last portion of the show was rained out. I blog a little more extensively about this on my myspace site. Lauren bought some unique dresses for the girls from one of the vendors.

On Sunday we went to the fest for lunch. It was a beautiful day. There were many kids activities. Colette assissted in a magic trick and Bernadette won 3rd place in the pass the catsup bottle game (played like hot potato). There was a cool car show too.

Trip Blog 1

On July 9th we left Houma for our trip to Illinois. One thing I've learned with a car full of kids is that you will have to make frequent stops, which is okay with me-- I feel like I need a little break every hour and a half anyway, and besides, I remember when I was a kid being given an empty Folgers can in lieu of a restroom stop, and that didn't set too well with me.

We have started a little tradition by having a picnic on the first day at a rest stop in Mississippi. (pics) The kids seem to focus on playing more than eating, and Bernadette always seems to find some bugs she wants to add to her collection, which, of course we can't allow, but she understands.

Back in Houma

We arrived back in Houma yesterday from Illinois. I posted a blog on my music myspace site www.myspace.com/fredclarkmusic concerning the performances. After I get caught up on some things here at home I will try to post some blogs and pictures here of the non-music stuff.
Stefanie came home from the hospital on Thursday.

Stefanie

I am a bit shaken at the moment. My daughter Stefanie, 22, has a history of health issues and had surgery in St. Louis on Monday. There were complications and yesterday we almost lost her.
Your prayers would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Fred
